Welcome from the Head of School
Welcome from Mr Muir
At Eldon Grove Academy, we are proud to be more than just a school – we are a community. Our ethos is built on high expectations, kindness and ambition, and we want every child who walks through our doors to leave not only with the knowledge and skills to succeed, but also with the character and confidence to make a difference in the world. We aspire for our children to be curious, resilient and compassionate young people who are proud of their roots yet excited for the opportunities ahead. Our aim is to be the heartbeat of our community: a place where children thrive, families feel supported and together we celebrate all that makes Hartlepool special.
My journey with Eldon Grove Academy began back in 2014, as a student teacher on a six-week placement. From that very first day I knew this school was special. The spirit of the EGA community – our children, staff, and families – captured me immediately, and it has been at the heart of my career ever since. I am absolutely honoured to be Head of School at such a special place.
Hartlepool is more than just where I work – it is who I am. Born and raised here, my roots are firmly in this community. My family is from Hartlepool; I love this town and its people. That’s why I am deeply committed to making sure our children not only feel proud of their local identity but also have every opportunity to broaden their horizons and see how far they can go.
I hope this website offers you a real flavour of who we are at Eldon Grove Academy – the values we hold dear, the opportunities we provide and the pride we have in our children.
Kind regards,
Mr Liam Muir
