EGA's Science Intent
We want every child to have every opportunity to experience success in each Science learning episode.
At Eldon Grove Academy, it is of paramount importance that Science is accessible for all of our pupils. We understand that children are naturally curious and we aim to encourage this inquisitive nature throughout our whole school Science curriculum. We want to teach methods of enquiry and investigation to stimulate a child’s curiosity about the world around them. We believe Science encompasses the acquisition of knowledge, concepts, skills and positive attitudes. During their time at Eldon Grove Academy, children should learn to ask scientific questions and appreciate and develop an understanding of the similarities and differences between each scientific discipline.
Our children will be given opportunity to: think independently and ask questions about working scientifically and the knowledge and skills that it brings; apply a full range of practical skills including measuring, observing, recording, interpreting, reporting and evaluating scientific investigations; demonstrate an excellent scientific knowledge and understanding in written and verbal explanations.
