About Us
Eldon Grove Academy is a larger than average Co-educational Primary School; which caters for the age range 3 to 11. The number on roll is presently 454 with a further 58 pupils attending nursery. The school is extremely popular with parents and some year groups are over-subscribed with regular appeals being heard for places.
Eldon Grove Academy offers happy, inviting and stimulating surroundings providing a sense of purpose and security where children feel comfortable and secure and are able to develop and learn together. We believe in promoting a purposeful atmosphere in school with a sense of community where children can exercise the personal and social skills of independence, team work, self-awareness, self-respect and respect for others.
We strongly believe children should be polite, possess good manners and have a healthy respect for everyone with whom they come into contact. Our Behaviour Policy, which rewards expected behaviour, is designed to promote this, but the help and support of parents is vital if we are to achieve our aims.
We provide a broad, balanced and rich curriculum but give high priority to achievement in numeracy, literacy and oracy. We are passionate that all pupils make academic progress throughout their school life and thus reach their true potential. Educational visits and specific visitors to the Academy are encouraged to complement teaching and learning in the classroom so that work and learning is meaningful and interesting.
