Junior Advanced Performance Programme
Currently, 9 children across Years 5 and 6 attend the Junior Advanced Performance Programme, at High Tunstall College of Science.
The purpose of the programme is to introduce pupils identified as gifted and talented in sport, to a range of different sports and activities that they may be unfamiliar with and/or not have access to. Additionally, it supports High Tunstall’s Advanced Performance Programme (APP), supporting transition as it continues throughout their secondary school experience. As well as partaking in a number of sporting events, it allows pupils to delve deeper into the subject of Sports Science and develop a clearer understanding of physical education.
So far this academic year, the JAPP children have took part in fitness testing, contact rugby and handball. Upcoming events include basketball and a multitude of athletic events.
