Attendance Officer
Permanent Position
Part time: 20 hours per week (Term Time Only + 5 PD Days)
8am-12noon Monday to Friday
Required for: ASAP
Salary: Band 8 £28,598 - £30,024
Actual Salary: £13,355 - £14,339
We are seeking to appoint a committed and resilient Attendance Officer to play a pivotal role in improving pupil attendance, punctuality and engagement.
This is a frontline, impact-focused role. The successful candidate will work directly with pupils, families and staff to identify barriers to attendance and implement targeted interventions that lead to sustained improvement. The role is central to our safeguarding, inclusion and school improvement priorities.
The Role
Working under the direction of the Inclusion and Family Support Assistant and SENDCo, the Attendance
Officer will:
- Identify pupils at risk of persistent or severe absence and put effective support in place
- Deliver targeted attendance interventions and reintegration support
- Work proactively with parents and carers to improve attendance and punctuality
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to meetings, reviews and statutory processes
- Liaise with external agencies and Local Authority services where required
- Contribute directly to whole-school attendance improvement strategies
This is not a passive administrative role. It requires professional judgement, persistence and the confidence to challenge when attendance does not improve.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience of working with children and families, particularly
- those facing disadvantage or additional needs
- A clear understanding of the link between attendance,
- safeguarding and pupil outcomes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships
- with parents and colleagues
- The resilience to manage difficult conversations and complex cases
- Good organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage data and records
- accurately
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Experience in an attendance, pastoral or inclusion role is desirable, but we will consider applicants
- with strong transferable skills and the right professional mindset.

Eldon Grove Academy are seeking to appoint a committed and highly effective Teaching Assistant to who will contribute to meeting the needs of all pupils in all aspects of the Primary Curriculum and the wider life of the school. This post, in the first instance, is based Nursery, supporting children at the very start of their school journey. The successful applicant will become part of a forward thinking stand out school which became part of the Extol Trust on 1st July 2013.
The successful candidate should have:
The ability to work confidently with groups and individual pupils under the guidance of a teacher;
A proven ability to inspire, engage and motivate young children to learn;
Experience supporting children Early Years or Key Stage 1;
Good knowledge and understanding of Development Matters and the National Curriculum for KS1;
Good knowledge and understanding of effective intervention;
High expectations and the experience of working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team;
Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability.
