Inclusion & Family Support Assistant
Permanent Position
Full time: 37 hours per week (Term Time Only + 5 PD Days)
Required for: 2nd March 2026
Salary: Band 9 £31,537.00 - £33,699
Actual Salary: £27,247.03 - £29,774.14
We are seeking to appoint a committed, resilient and highly organised Inclusion & Family Support Assistant to join the team at Eldon Grove Academy, part of Extol Academy Trust.
This role is central to our work with children and families who face barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, parents/ carers, school staff and external agencies to improve attendance, engagement, wellbeing and outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children. This is a demanding role. It requires professionalism, emotional intelligence and the confidence to work with families where relationships may be complex or challenging. In return, it offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference to children’s lives.
The successful candidate will :
- Have demonstrable experience in a comparable inclusion, family support or pastoral role supporting children and families.
- Have experience of working successfully with vulnerable children and families who face challenging circumstances.
- Have experience of line management, supervision or monitoring of staff.
- Have experience of leading or co-ordinating support plans and maintaining casework records.
- Have experience of implementing strategies to improve behaviour, engagement or attendance.
- Have strong organisational and IT skills, including maintaining
- computerised records and report writing.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a wider inclusion
- and safeguarding team.
- Have a working knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Have an understanding of safeguarding thresholds, Early Help and child protection processes.
- Be able to work effectively with external agencies and
- contribute to multi-agency meetings.
- Hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and GCSEs
- (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- Hold a driving licence or be able to travel as required to support families.
