Early Years Curriculum Overviews

At Eldon Grove Academy, our Early Years curriculum is carefully designed to provide every child with the strongest possible start to their educational journey. Rooted in our vision that 'Potential is Our Passion', our curriculum inspires curiosity, develops confidence and lays the foundations for lifelong learning.

Our Nursery and Reception curriculum is built around engaging half-termly themes that ignite children's interests whilst ensuring full coverage of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Each theme has been carefully sequenced to build knowledge over time, develop ambitious vocabulary and provide meaningful opportunities for children to explore, question and create.

Through high-quality teaching, purposeful play and language-rich learning environments, children develop the knowledge, skills and characteristics they need to become successful learners. Our three curriculum drivers – Understanding our Place in the World, Aspiring to Achieve, and Broadening Horizons – are woven throughout every theme, ensuring children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
