Make a difference where it matters
Eldon Grove Academy is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and highly effective Teaching Assistant to join our team and share our ambition for every child to succeed.
During the 2026/27 academic year, you will work within Key Stage 1, supporting children at a crucial point in their education as they develop strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, alongside the independence, confidence and wider skills they need to thrive.
Working closely with teachers and other colleagues, you will contribute to high-quality teaching and learning and support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
At Eldon Grove, we believe excellent teaching assistance is about much more than providing an additional adult in the classroom. We are looking for someone who will build positive relationships, maintain high expectations, promote independence and help children become confident and successful learners.
About you
We would particularly like to hear from candidates who can work effectively with individual pupils and groups, inspire and motivate children, and bring relevant experience of working within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1.
You will have a secure understanding of Development Matters and the expectations of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum, understand how targeted intervention and effective classroom support can improve outcomes, and demonstrate high expectations for children's learning, behaviour and personal development. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, alongside flexibility, adaptability and a positive professional attitude, are essential.

A permanent opportunity
This is a permanent Extol Trust appointment. Your place of work for the 2026/27 academic year will be Eldon Grove Academy. From the beginning of the 2027/28 academic year, you may be required to work at another Hartlepool-based school within Extol Trust according to organisational and pupil needs.

Make a positive difference to every child’s lunchtime
Eldon Grove Academy is looking to appoint a positive, caring and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team.
Lunchtime is an important part of the school day. We want every child to feel safe, happy, included and well supported, and our Lunchtime Supervisors play a vital role in making this happen.
Working as part of our wider school team, you will supervise pupils during the midday break across dining areas, playgrounds and other indoor and outdoor spaces. You will encourage positive play and relationships, support pupils to meet our expectations for behaviour and ensure that safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing remain at the heart of lunchtime provision.
About you
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can build warm, respectful relationships. You will communicate confidently with children and adults, work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative when needed.
You will be patient, positive, reliable and consistent, responding calmly to situations as they arise. You should understand the importance of safeguarding, positive behaviour and inclusion, and be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
