SEND

At Eldon Grove Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We believe that every pupil deserves an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious education where individual strengths are recognised, barriers to learning are removed and success is celebrated.

Our approach to SEND is underpinned by high-quality adaptive teaching, early identification of need and a graduated approach to support. We work closely with pupils, parents/carers and a range of external professionals to ensure that provision is tailored to meet each child's individual needs and enables them to make the best possible progress.

The academy supports pupils across the four broad areas of need identified within the SEND Code of Practice:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Sensory and/or Physical Needs

Our experienced SENDCo works alongside teachers and support staff to coordinate provision, monitor progress and ensure that pupils receive appropriate support through the Assess–Plan–Do–Review cycle. Where required, we work in partnership with the Local Authority and other agencies to support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to ensure that pupils with SEND participate fully in all aspects of school life, including the curriculum, enrichment opportunities, educational visits and wider school community. We place great importance on working in partnership with families, valuing their knowledge and involving them in every stage of their child's educational journey.

At Eldon Grove Academy, Potential is our Passion, and we are committed to creating an environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
