2 October 2017 : Year 5/6. This event was hosted at High Tunstall College of Science as all the schools from the Cluster came together for a round-robin style tournament to see who would qualify for the town tournament at a later date. After some fantastic performances and only losing one game along the way, Eldon Grove Academy finished 2nd in the group of 6 and qualified for the town competition.
18 October 2017 : Year 5/6. This tournament was held at West Rugby Club with the top qualifiers from around Hartlepool battling it out to represent the town at the Tees Valley tournament. Our team did fantastically well to finish 2nd in their group. However, it was only the top team from each group that qualified which meant that we just missed out on qualification.
20 October 2017 : Year 6 Boys Team Football Festival. This was a fantastic opportunity to give a chance to some of the boys who did not get the chance to attend the first tournament. The team were successful in 75% of their games, finishing 3rd out of 10 teams.
17 November 2017 : Year 5/6 Boys. Congratulations to our football team who qualified for the Championship league. The team played well playing a total of 7 games, winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 3 placing them 5th in the table.
1 December 2017 : Y6 Boys Football Tournament. The team once again, gave a very good account of themselves winning 6 out of 8 games and finishing a very close 2nd to the eventual winners.
19 January 2018 : Y5 Boys Tournament. Another strong showing from our Y5 (and some Y4) pupils. The team won 4 out of 6 games and finished 3rd overall in the tournament.
2 February 2018 : Y6 Girls Football League Town Event. Result to be advised.
22 November 2017 : Having never tried Tri-Golf before, our team did really well finishing 3rd out of 12 teams.
Sports Hall Athletics
11 December 2017 : Y5/6 Boys and Girls. 18 pupils attend the Athletics event at High Tunstall College of Science. Both boys and girls performed fantastically well and won the event, 50 points ahead of the 2nd place team.
9 January 2018 : Y5/6 Boys and Girls. The team as a whole competed very well against strong opposition from schools around the town. A 4th place finish was a good reward for all the hard work and effort put in by the team.
22 January 2018 : Y5/6 Boys and Girls. Our team headed to High Tunstall College of Science to represent the school in difficult weather conditions. The team finished 3rd out of 6 teams and 9 out of the 18 pupils competed have qualified for the next round. A special mention to Jack Johnson-Clark who finished 1st in the Y5 boys race.
5 February 2018 : Y2 Multi-Skills Cluster Event. Well done to our Y2 team who came 3rd in this competition.
26 January 2018 : Year 5/6. The team as a whole were outstanding in all areas. The boys team returned with a colossal 10 gold medals. Shay Wood won an outstanding three gold medals competing in the Medley Relay, the Freestyle Relay and Backstroke. Samuel Ainsley also achieved three golds in Medley Relay, the Freestyle Relay and the Front Crawl. Noah Betts, our Year 5 student, achieved two gold medals in the Medley Relay and the Freestyle Relay. Jonah Weldrake managed two gold medals in the Medley Relay and the Freestyle Relay. Also a huge congratulation to Jasmine Richardson competing in the individual event and achieving a bronze medal and her supporting team who performed exceptionally well and showed excellence resilience and determination.
Year 1/2 pupils have the opportunity to participate in Athletics after school club this term.
Year 5/6 pupils have the opportunity to participate in football after school club this term.
Year 6 participated in swimming lessons at High Tunstall College of Science during the Autumn term. For the spring term, Year 5 plus 1 class of Y3 (C11) had swimming lessons. For the summer term, Year 4 and Y3 will be participating in swimming lessons.

Well done to pupils who participated in the National Nutcracker Project with Miss Fields. The pupils involved in the programme now have a better understanding of dance, have developed their physical skills and unlocked their imagination and creativity. The pupils have been selected to visit the Teesside Showcase Cinema on Wednesday 13th November to watch a one-off performance of the Nutcracker performed by the Royal Opera House Ballet on the big screen.
Junior Advanced Performance Programme
Our JAPP has had a brilliant start to the year when 10 students took part in an introduction to handball session at High Tunstall College of Science on 30th September 2017. They were also introduced to different fitness tests and looked at how their bodies work during exercise on 19 January 2018.
