School Council

Our School Council has three main parts:

How do our Class Meetings work?

Class meetings are held, and ran by, a range of different children within the class. We are of the belief that ALL children should have the chance to be involved in making changes within our school and this provides all children with the opportunity to be leaders. The meetings are normally led in a vote style situation, with a pressing matter or issue to be discussed selected by the School Council.

Meetings are held when projects and upcoming events are taking place. If there are no pressing matters, meetings are held half termly. Due to the change in School Council format, KS1 School Council are starting to attend School Council meetings now as KS2 children become more accustomed to the set up.

The School Council have organised a range of events so far this year, including:

This half term, School Council organised a sponsored read for the whole school. Children were encouraged to read as much as they could over the space of a week. They had to record their minutes and ask family/friends to sponsor them.

We are thrilled to announce that as a school we raised over £700 and therefore get to spend over £1200 on books. Each class has been given £60 to add books to their classrooms and reading areas.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event and raised money!
